We represent townhome associations, condominium associations, homeowner associations, and other common interest communities with a variety of legal needs involving:
Governing document drafting and amendment
Vendor and outside management company relations
General business matters
Re-sale disclosure certificates
With our experience, we counsel boards of directors about the legal requirements behind an association’s actions, including requirements of the Minnesota Non-Profit Corporations Act (Minnesota Statute Ch. 317A) and the Minnesota Common Interest Ownership Act (MCIOA; Minnesota Statute Ch. 515B). We advise associations about how their declaration, bylaws, and rules and regulations work together. We assist boards in understanding their duties, the legal principles that protect their actions , and how to avail themselves to those protections.
At Thompson Tarasek Lee-O’Halloran PLLC, we also represent owners within associations to understand their rights and responsibilities.
